CPE and CPD Reporting Steps

The following information explains the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Continued Professional Development (CPD) reporting steps for current and inactive certificants.

Your Status Reporting  Due Date Reporting Period You Need to
Inactive December 2014 2014 or prior Complete the reinstatement form for your program.*
Inactive – (Grace Period) December 2015 2015 Complete the 2015 CPE/CPD reporting form to become current.**
Certified December 2016 2016 Complete the 2016 CPE/CPD reporting form to remain current.

*Reinstatement fee required: US $100 for members or US $250 for non member.

**Since you missed the December 31, 2015 CPE/CPD reporting deadline, your IIA/BEAC certification status is now Inactive‒Grace Period; however, you are eligible to reinstate your Certified status during this grace period by doing one of the following:

Taking either one of these actions and reinstating your status as Certified (current) means you will have a new reporting date of December 31, 2016 for the annual period ending on that date.

NOTE: If you earn credits in 2016 (through June 30, 2016) to apply to your 2015 reporting period, you CANNOT also claim those credits for the period ending December 31, 2016.

For example, if you earned 35 of your required 40 CPE/CPD credits in 2015, but did not report them by the December 31, 2015 deadline, you may elect to earn five more credits before June 30, 2016 and report them toward your 2015 Certified status. You will then be current and reinstated as Certified for 2015. You would need to earn and report an additional 40 hours within the 2016 calendar year and report them by December 31, 2016 to continue to maintain your active Certified status.

Certification Fee Structure - Effective January 1, 2015
Member Non-member
CPE Reporting Fee* N/A US $100
Specialty CPE Reporting Fee* (per designation) N/A US $100
Inactive Status (over 12 months) CPE Reporting Fee** US $100 US $250

* Members of North America enjoy the member benefit of having CPE reporting fees included in their membership. CPE reporting fees may vary globally and depend on whether you report CPE directly to The IIA through CCMS or through your local institute. If you are not a North America member, please check with your local institute for pricing.

** Individuals that hold this status may not use the designation. To change a status from inactive back to a certified status requires the completion of a reinstatement reporting form for each designation held with an inactive status. Hours used for reinstatement may NOT be used toward the current year reporting requirements and must pay the reinstatement fee as indicated in the pricing chart.
