​CPE and CPD Reporting Steps

The following information explains the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Continued Professional Development (CPD) reporting steps for current and inactive certificants.

Your Status​ Cause ​Action Required
​Inactive* ​Failure to report CPE for two consecutive prior years ​Complete the reinstatement form for your program.
​Inactive (Grace Period) Failure to report CPE for the prior year ​Complete the CPE/CPD reporting form for the prior year.
​Certified ​Complete the CPE/CPD reporting form before December 31 of the current year.
 

Note: If you have an insufficient number of CPE/CPD credits to fulfill a prior year’s reporting period you may take credit hours earned in the existing year to complete your prior year’s CPE/CPD requirements.  Hours used for a prior year’s reporting may not be used toward the current year’s requirement.

For example, if you earned 35 of your required 40 CPE/CPD credits in 2015, but did not report them by the December 31, 2015 deadline, you may elect to earn five more credits before June 30, 2016 and report them toward your 2015 Certified status. You will then be current and reinstated as Certified for 2015. You would need to earn and report an additional 40 hours within the 2016 calendar year and report them by December 31, 2016 to continue to maintain your active Certified status.

*Individuals that hold this status may not use the designation. To change a status from inactive back to a certified status requires the completion of a reinstatement reporting form for each designation held with an inactive status. Hours used for reinstatement may NOT be used toward the current year reporting requirements and must pay the reinstatement fee as indicated in the pricing chart.

Access CCMS Steps to Report

If your status is presently Inactive or Inactive (Grace Period):

  1. Log into CCMS.
  2. Select the “COMPLETE A FORM” link.
  3. Search for the appropriate form based on your status.
  4. Complete and submit the form.

If your status is presently Certified:

  1. Log into CCMS.
  2. Select the “COMPLETE A FORM” link.
  3. Search for the Current Year CPE/CPD reporting form.
  4. Complete and submit the form.
