Certification Pricing Structure
The pricing below is applicable in the United States, Canada, and many other countries throughout the world. However, these prices may be different in countries where the exams are administered through agreements with IIA Institutes. Please contact your local Institute to verify the appropriate pricing structure. All fees are non-refundable.

*Members of North America enjoy the member benefit of CPE reporting fees included in their membership fees. CPE reporting fees may vary globally and if you report CPE directly to The IIA through CCMS or through your local institute. If you are not a North American member please check with your local institute for pricing.
** These fees are due when an exam part is rescheduled after an initial appointment is made. Note: This is for the three-part exam only and you may only extend one time per exam part during your entire eligibility period.

CIA Discounts for Students and Professors
The IIA offers reduced application and exam registration fees for the CIA program to candidates who are full-time students or full-time professors (educators) at accredited colleges or universities.
To qualify for discounted pricing, students must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student* (enrolled in at least 12 semester hours or equivalent) in his/her senior (final) year, as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled; OR
- Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student (enrolled in at least nine semester hours or equivalent), as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled.
*Full-time university students in their senior (final) year may enter the CIA program and sit for the CIA exam parts before completing their education requirement, but they must complete the education requirement before they can be certified.
To qualify for discounted pricing, professors must:
- Be a full- or part-time professor with an accredited educational institution; AND
- Provide a letter from their local IIA chapter or institute supporting their request for professor status for pricing.
To apply for student or professor discounts, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Complete and submit the Full-Time Student/Professor Status Form in The IIA's located in the Certification Candidate Handbook. Please upload the completed documents through the Document Upload Portal. Candidates will be notified via e-mail if they are approved for discounts.
Step 2: Complete the CIA Application – Student/Professor form in the Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS).
