IIARF New Release: 3rd Edition of Ground Breaking Textbook
While many books had been used to convey various aspects of internal auditing, Internal Auditing: Assurance & Consulting Services incorporated the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to succeed as an internal auditor from both theoretical and application perspectives.
Now in its third edition, this reference book has been updated to provide novice internal auditors with the most current information available. Even the title of the book has been changed — from Internal Auditing: Assurance & Consulting Services to Internal Auditing: Assurance & Advisory Services. This change aligns with the shift in terminology for non-assurance services and avoids confusion with services provided by outside firms for a fee.
In addition to the name change, the third edition includes updates related to:
- A customized approach to conducting consulting engagements, which corresponds with the latest IPPF.
- Emerging practices relating to governance, risk management, and control.
- Fraud guidance from Managing the Business Risk of Fraud: A Practical Guide (co-sponsored by The IIA, AICPA, and ACFE).
Beyond these substantial changes and updates, this reference also includes a DVD-ROM featuring all new case studies, The IIA’s Code of Ethics, International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, and audit software packages from ACL, IDEA, and TeamMate.
Sponsored in part by The IIA’s Chicago Chapter.
