Registration is Now Open for The IIA’s New QIAL Designation
Announced in July 2014, Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership™ (QIAL™) is The IIA’s elite new leadership designation. The program is aimed at helping top internal auditors, including chief audit executives (CAEs), demonstrate skills proven to be key indicators of success specific to internal audit leadership. It also is intended to empower aspiring leaders to develop those skills.
QIAL skills are evaluated in a challenging three-step process:
- Candidates must critically analyze complex information in three separate case studies*, and produce insightful written responses for each to be reviewed by a senior-level audience. Case study windows will be available in October 2014, February 2015, and June 2015.
- Candidates must prepare and deliver a presentation before a senior-level panel, followed by a rigorous question-and-answer session.
- The final step is a 90-minute interview focused on the candidate’s personal and professional experience.
*Candidates with extensive experience, including recent CAE experience, have the option of submitting documentation regarding their own experiences as well as supporting evidence in place of the case studies.
Applicants may enter CCMS (Certification Candidate Management System) to begin the registration process, learn more about eligibility requirements, or visit the candidate documents page.
