The IIA Research Foundation: Your Strategic Partner in Professional Relevance
Since 1976, The IIARF has been the driving force behind delivering groundbreaking research reports and educational products that empower internal auditors to remain professionally relevant to the stakeholders they serve. The IIARF produces materials reviewed by practitioners for practitioners to ensure that what it publishes is relevant to today’s internal auditor and ready-to-use within today’s internal audit landscape.
Beyond offering thousands of educational products and resources through The IIARF Bookstore, the Foundation also develops and disseminates research reports that focus on the most pressing issues facing the profession. In fact, more than 30 such research reports are available for FREE download to IIA members.
One of these reports is the recently released white paper, The Audit Committee and the CAE: Sustaining a Strategic Partnership. The paper was made possible through a partnership between The IIARF, The IIA’s Audit Executive Center, and the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). It provides key insights into what it takes to cultivate and maintain a strong relationship between these two critical partners in good governance. The core content summarizes key takeaways from a roundtable discussion held at The IIA’s 2012 International Conference that included nearly 25 prominent audit committee chairs and CAEs who candidly discussed what it takes to maximize the value these two keys players can add to their organizations through optimizing their relationship. Some of the topics covered include:
- Providing the right support for CAEs.
- Mode and frequency of reporting.
- Strategies for enhancing communication.
