IIA Names William Michalisin Chief Officer for North American Operations
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (June 29, 2015) — The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) announced today the appointment of William “Bill” Michalisin as Executive Vice President and Chief Officer for North American Operations.
Michalisin, most recently IIA Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Director of The IIA Research Foundation (IIARF), will oversee core services offered to IIA members throughout North America. Departments reporting to him include Membership & Chapter Relations, Conferences, Learning Solutions, and Professional Services. He also will serve as President of the Internal Audit Academic Advancement Fund (IAAAF) and Manager of IIA Quality Services LLC. He will continue overseeing Sales & Business Development, Publications, and Marketing & Communications, and remain Executive Director of the IIARF.

As CMO, Michalisin served as the marketing, brand and communications leader for The IIA, the global professional association and standard-setting body for internal auditors. The IIA serves more than 180,000 members in more than 170 countries and territories and is the internal audit profession’s recognized advocate, educator, and provider of standards, guidance, and certifications globally.

Prior to joining The IIA, Michalisin was Industry Marketing Leader for Consumer & Industrial Products at Deloitte, which included responsibilities for cross-functional delivery within the aerospace and defense, automotive, consumer products, process and industrial products, retail and distribution, and travel, hospitality and leisure sectors. Earlier in his career, he was a business strategy and process consultant at Deloitte and Accenture, serving clients in media and entertainment, retail and consumer products, manufacturing, and financial services.
Michalisin graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a master’s in strategic communications. He has a bachelor’s degree in international relations and economics from Bucknell University. He and his wife, Linda, have two children and live in Orlando, Florida.

Michalisin succeeds Kevin Mayeux in the positions of COO North America and Executive Vice President. Mayeux was recently named CEO of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
