Internal Auditor Magazine Carries Away Nine Awards from Florida Magazine Association
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla., USA — Internal Auditor magazine was once again recognized by the Florida Magazine Association (FMA) for its editorial and design excellence. Published by The Institute of Internal Auditors’ global headquarters in Altamonte Spring, Fla., the magazine was honored with nine awards during FMA’s Charlie Awards Gala on Friday, August 17.
“We were excited to win the top award in all three ‘best overall’ categories this year,” said Editor in Chief Anne Millage. “We recently redesigned the magazine and revamped its content and it’s so gratifying to be recognized for our efforts.”
The Charlie Award is given to the first-place entry in each category. Internal Auditor was recognized in the “Trade/Technical” category for:

“Internal Auditor magazine continues to evolve with its new modern design and enhanced online presence, as well as a new app allowing readers to access its relevant and fresh content wherever and whenever,” said IIA President and CEO Richard Chambers, CIA, CGAP, CCSA, CRMA. “It’s one of The IIA’s crown jewels and our editorial staff and designers continue to impress me. I’m extremely proud to lead an organization that produces such a widely read, world-class professional publication.”
Charlie award entries, all from within the state of Florida, are judged by publishing professionals from across the country, including Kevin Amorim of Newsday, Beverly Beckham of the Boston Globe, Berkley Hudson of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Jeffrey Seglin of the Harvard Kennedy School, and Matt Strelecki of Meredith Corp., as well as many others. More than 700 entries were submitted this year. Formed in 1954, FMA is the largest state magazine association in the nation, comprising more than 200 publishing professionals.
Internal Auditor is read by nearly 100,000 people around the world. Its mission is to arm internal audit practitioners with the cutting-edge information and practices they need to do their jobs today and tomorrow. The editorial staff includes: Publisher Eugene O’Neill, Editor in Chief Anne Millage, Managing Editor David Salierno, Associate Managing Editor Tim McCollum, Senior Editor Shannon Steffee, Publications Editor Allison Cain, and Production Manager Gretchen Gorfine.
