New Translations for Lessons Learned on the Audit Trail
Chambers book will be available in Chinese, Spanish, and French by year’s end
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (Aug. 03, 2015) — Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) President and CEO Richard F. Chambers, CIA, QIAL, CGAP, CCSA, CRMA, picked up a lot of knowledge about internal auditing over his 40-year career. That deep understanding of the profession, shared in Lessons Learned on the Audit Trail, has shown it has broad appeal.
Less than 18 months after its original printing, the award-winning book has topped 10,000 unit sales, has been translated into Traditional Chinese and will soon be available in Simplified Chinese, Spanish and French. By topping 10,000 unit sales, Lessons Learned on the Audit Trail becomes the best-selling book in the trade business category produced by the IIA Research Foundation.
“Given Richard’s platform as an author and his ability to connect with internal auditors around the globe, we were confident the book would have wide appeal because the message resonates not only with internal auditors but also the business executive,” said Lillian McAnally, Managing Editor of IIARF. “We are thrilled about having the book translated into Chinese, Spanish and French.”
The majority of sales to date have been for the English-language print and electronic versions, but sales of the Traditional Chinese version, published in April in Chinese Taiwan, are nearing 500. A Simplified Chinese version will be available in China in September.
The Spanish-language digital version will be available in mid-August with print versions available in September, and a French version will be available in late September.
“It’s quite flattering and humbling to know that my musings on the profession will soon be available in four languages,” Chambers said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to share my observations and experiences.”
This year Lessons Learned on the Audit Trail earned an APEX Award of Excellence for financial and investment writing and a Digital Book Award, which recognizes innovation, creativity, and excellence in all aspects of digital book publishing.
