New IPPF – What to Expect​

Starting July 6, 2015:

  • The Mission of Internal Audit and the Core Principles for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing are new elements of the IPPF.
  • Implementation Guidance to replace all existing Practice Advisories will be developed through 2016 and will be released on a quarterly basis. Members can continue to use existing Practice Advisories to support conformance with the Standards until such time as new Implementation Guides are issued.

    More implementation guidance is expected to be released fourth quarter in 2015. Details to come.

  • Supplemental Guidance: All Practice Guides, Global Technology Audit Guides (GTAGs), and Guides to the Assessment of IT Risks (GAIT) automatically become part of the recommended Supplemental Guidance layer.

2015‒17

  • A Message from the Standards Board: Proposed Changes to The Standards
  • The International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) 2013 edition (Redbook), Quality Manual for the Internal Audit Activity, Certifications, and training programs will be updated with the New IPPF as necessary.
  • Additional training and education will be available 2015-2016 to support your conformance efforts via webinars, podcasts, and more.
