2014 Gaming Conference Recap
Attended by over 300 auditors, regulators, and related professionals in the gaming industry, the 2014 Gaming Conference in Las Vegas was one of The IIA’s hottest conferences to date.
The conference kicked off with a historic keynote session presented by Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. This was Freeman’s first time addressing the annual conference and shared experiences and insights in his session, Global and Domestic Expansion of the Gaming Industry.
This year’s 24 concurrent sessions, focused on topics ranging from Auditing Poker Operations to Internet Security Network Risk Assessment Programs and Title 31 Bank Secrecy Act Update, were facilitated by internal audit professionals well respected within the industry. Each session leader offered insights and experiences that attendees found very relatable and relevant.
Always a favorite, Tuesday evening brought the Gaming Industry Executive Panel, with experts Phillip Popehn, Robert Rudloff, Arthur Askins, and Faisal Khan breaking down gaming’s current hot topics. The event wrapped up Friday morning with outstanding general sessions on the The Revised COSO Framework: What’s Changed, Why, and So What?, and We Gotta Fail…To Succeed! This year’s conference offered a winning hand for those who played all-in.
