The IIA and the 2020 International Conference Program Committee are calling on dynamic presenters who can engage their audience and conduct thought-provoking discussions. You are encouraged to participate by submitting a proposal to speak, noting the topic and format you would like to present.

The 2020 International Conference program is excited to showcase a variety of educational tracks and formats to foster positive learning outcomes. Educational tracks include Auditing in the New Era; Global Insights in Cybersecurity, Privacy and Technology, Global Risks and Controls; Leadership; and Soundbite Sessions to name a few. Speaker proposals will need to fulfill the criteria of selecting the desired topic as well as one of the following formats:

  • Standard Session including audience Q&A
  • Case-based Learning highlighting case studies and audience discussion
  • In Conversation With facilitated discussion including speaker and moderator
  • Deep Dive Learning Labs are two presentations presented as Part I (introduction) and Part II (interactive deep dive learning strategies and practical takeaways)
  • Soundbite Sessions are 10-15 minutes presentations followed by question and answer
  • Tools and Techniques presentations highlighting audit tools and techniques that foster positive outcomes
  • Spanish Track where all presentations will be in Spanish

Please ensure you review the Speaker Proposal Guide for format descriptions prior to submitting. The guide outlines all the key information you must provide to ensure your proposal meets our requirements, and it also includes a sample submission form for reference.

Important timeline events include:

​Deadline for submission of proposals 8 September 2019
​Proposals reviewed by The IIA and Conference Program Committee ​8–29 September 2019
​Invitation issued to selected speakers ​Week of 14 October 2019
​Email notification to speakers who were not selected ​Week of 4 November 2019

Submissions received after 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, 8 September 2019, will not be considered for the 2020 International Conference program.

Speaking at the International Conference is a volunteer opportunity. Compensation for speaking fees and travel is not provided unless otherwise indicated. If you will need assistance with travel, please indicate that in your submission. All speakers receive a complimentary, non-transferable, full registration for the 2020 International Conference. Speakers from outside North America will receive two nights’ hotel accommodations.
