MacDonnell Ulsch is CEO and Chief Analyst at ZeroPoint Risk Research LLC in Boston and specializes in investigating cyber breaches, advising several federal agencies and private sector clients. He has held executive security and risk positions in private industry, served as Trusted Advisor to the United States Secrecy Commission, and worked with former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn on information security policy. Ulsch was a national security source for Dan Brown’s novel “Digital Fortress.” Formerly with the National Security Institute, he now serves on its advisory board, and was appointed to the TechTarget Security Media Advisory Board. A Distinguished Fellow of the Ponemon Institute, he is the author of the book, “Threat! Managing Risk in a Hostile World,” published by The IIA Research Foundation. Currently, he is writing “CYBER THREAT! How to Control the Growing Risk of Cyber Attacks,” to be published in 2014 by John Wiley & Sons Inc. His monthly research advisory, “CyberBreach Situation Report,” has an audience of approximately half a million professionals. He speaks often at industry events, including The IIA, in the U.S. and abroad.
